Zero Is Greater Than Three, Pele Is Inferior Than Messi!

‘Pele’, the name says a novel itself. The three-time world cup champion is called the best player in the history of football many times.

Pele played 91 matches and scored 77 goals for Brazil National Team. Pelé is in third place in the list of all-time top scorers in World Cup. He scored 12 goals playing four world cups and he is the only player who has been on a team that won three World Cups. He ended his career with a total of 1281 goals out of 1363 games, becoming one of the most prolific goal scorers ever in the history.

Pelé was a clinical finisher, completely two-footed, highly skilled at dribbling and passing and a remarkably good tackler for a forward as well.

However, he started his journey at an age of 15 with Santos where he ended up his career also. Within 10 months difference, he played his first international match. In 1958, Pelé became the youngest ever to win a World Cup Trophy in Sweden at 17.

In a recent interview, he was asked to compare him with Messi. He told, “How can you make a comparison between a guy who heads the ball well, shoots with the left, shoots with the right and another who only shoots with one leg, only has one skill and doesn’t head the ball well?”

He added, “How can you compare? To compare with Pele, it has to be someone who shoots well with the left, shoots well with the right, and scores headers.”

Messi is more of a team player and he is great on the ball. He is brilliant in passing, dribbling and finishing. But the weakness of his heading and right foot also have seen sometimes where the another of his generation Cristiano Ronaldo is very good at.

Just after releasing the news most of the Messi fans got hurt and started mocking Pele in the social media. The offside rule was less heavy that time and the Messi fans are using it as a weapon. But the real thing it was not only applicable to Pele, but it was also applicable to football all over the world. He played football almost 50 years ago. It will be very hard to compare two of the players of the two generation. Pele was undoubtedly the best of his generation. Messi is one of the two best of his generation.

Messi won a lot of team and individual trophies with Barcelona but he is the shadow of him only in performance when it comes to the national team. He played 4 World Cups and went to the Final one time where he couldn’t finish winning it. Even his performance was not up to the mark at that World Cup knockout stages. In the latest edition of World Cup, he played well but couldn’t cross the round of sixteen.

In an interview with Messi, one of the greatest of all time wished to have a world cup in return of all of his Ballon d’Or trophies. Even in Argentina Maradona is told the greatest player of their history because of winning World Cup 1986.

It was totally a ridiculous question to Pele about comparing him with Messi by the journalist. And Pele told his mind out, he told what he thinks. Although he is considered as wrong it is not right to mock or troll someone like him like this. He showed something which no one could show still. We should respect the legends of every generation.
