Mid life crisis or stroke of genius? We’ll let you decide. Recently we came across a story of a man who spent all his severance package on one go and instantly we knew we had to know why.
Abdur Rahman, aged 56 from Mohammadpur, Dhaka recently retired from a Marketing Firm where he was employed for the last 15 years of his career. He was given a very generous severance package on his retirement considering he used to work in middle management. The first thing he did was to go the nearest bike dealership and order a sleek black Yamaha R15 V2.
Why would a father of two, son who’s a 24-year-old university graduate and a 20-year-old daughter who’s in her second year in university would do such a thing despite being retired and having not much in savings?
Imagine living all your life working hard but never being able to do something for yourself. That’s exactly how Mr. Rahman spent most of his life and he just wanted to do this one thing for him. He has always admired bikes but never could own one due to loans and impracticality of owning a bike being a family man. So finally, at this stage in his life he was like the hell with norms of society and instead made his lifelong dream come true.
Many might consider it reckless, but we all can agree that we can be inspired by his story. He makes us wish that we can be as cool as him when we are in our fifties. Like many other people even Mrs. Rahman was unhappy with him buying a bike that their son wouldn’t dare to dream about, but Hey! we can’t make everyone happy, can we? Let us know your opinion and thoughts on – what we would like to call – his ballsiness.
