Siddiqua Rahman Ayesha, 18 was supposed to appear for her HSC examinations in 2 months until her life turned around! Raised in an upper-class family that owns multiple resorts in Cox Bazaar, her life was always suffocating.Ayesha loved the open outdoors, she loved running across the beach and meeting new people – something her family never allowed.
One sunny evening, Ayesha met a man named Rahim on the beach. It was love at first sight, yet Ayesha knew her family would never approve of this.Rahim offered to run away with her once he knew of her struggles. He promised an amazing life in his studio apartment at Teknaf so Ayesha promptly agreed and went with him after packing up her clothes.
They got married at a local Kazi Office and the newly wed couple got on a bus towards Teknaf. Local authorities intercepted the bus upon which Rahim was found to be a Rohingya Refugee! Even Ayesha was not spared as she was married to him!Ayesha now lives her life at Kutupalong Refugee Camp in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar.
